FREE Extreme Triangle Event!
You gotta have more triangle!
Wednesday, May 19th - 7 PM, at The Drum Exchange
Are you a triangle fanatic?
Do you love counting 259 bars and playing that perfect "ding" and getting paid for it?
Are you tired of using old tension rods as triangle beaters?
We had a great, informal "Meet and Greet" with John Stoessel, the inventor of the world's best triangle beater. It was a rare opportunity to try out his unique beaters and get first-hand information about their use, especially in orchestral repertoire. John told lots of stories about making and inventing percussion equipment in the Midwest. The beaters are available at The Drum Exchange.
John Stoessel has a unique background in both science and music. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and worked at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago. John also studied music theory and composition at Chicago Musical College (De Paul University) He has composed and orchestrated music, and was a summer conductor (director) for a symphonic experimental group. He has been principal percussionist in a number of semi-pro orchestras in the Midwest, and conducted Church choirs. John has been an instrument maker since 1968, and also written books on his music experiences.
